Ekamravan, Bhubaneswar

Ekamravan is situated on the Western banks of the Bindusagar lake adjoining the ancient Lingaraj Temple in the Capital of Odisha, Bhubaneswar the temple city. The place is also written as Ekamravana or Ekamra Van (Odia: ଏକାମ୍ରବନ).

The west bank of Bhubaneshwar's holy Bindu Sagar (Ocean Drop Lake) is the attractive place of the city. And this place is more famous for the Ekamravan Medicinal Plant Garden.

The name Ekamravan means "one mango tree forest". Old Hindu scriptures say that Bhubaneshwar was one of Lord Shiva's favorite places, where he liked to spend time meditating under a huge mango tree.

There are more than 200 varieties of plants in the Ekamravan Medicinal Plant Garden. The feature points of the garden are raised platforms dedicated to Lords Shiba, Parbati, and Ganesha. It was created by artisans from Raghurajpur handicrafts village and the historical Buddhist site Lalitgiri. It's so beautifully landscaped and relaxing, most people would enjoy it.

One of our friends Gautam Rout had some photographs from this garden.
