The Bay of Bengal is called as the Mahodadhi. In Sanskrit 'Mahodadhi' means a "great ocean". As per belief, all sins are washed away by bathing at this beach. So, devotees come here all day and some also worship here.
On Kartika Purnima, people used to float Boitas here at Mahodadhi. Our friends Biswanath Dash and Surajit had sent some pictures from today's Boita Bandana and Danga Bhasa.
